Marvellous and stunning location - next door to Promenade. Found in the beautiful area close to the shores of Lake Brienz, and Ballanburge open air museum. Exceptionally comfortable beds and central heating and multi-channel television. Magnificent view of the lake...

Excellent location! It was so convenient, just a short stroll to all the places we wanted to visit. Our twin room had a nice view, it was just right for us. 🚶♂️.

It is very convenient to the lake steamer, the Swiss National Railways station, and the station of the narrow-gauge mountain cog railway.
I felt at a disadvantage because I didn't / don't speak German

Weisses Kreuz is very conveniently located right by the railway and bus stations and the pier (boat trips on the lake) and the start of the Brienz Rothorn Bahn. Our room was at the back overlooking the steam-powered Rothorn Bahn - great for children and railway buffs - and who could object to being woken by the sound of a steam engine? (they don't run frequently, so not a huge problem). Although the parking space is a bit limited, it does not have to be reserved (contrary to what the website says).
The dining room usually seemed a bit understaffed - often only one waitress trying to do everything, including washing up behind the bar. Our bathroom extractor fan didn't work and didn't get fixed (though I have to admit we only reported it the once, partly because of the language problem) and there were a number of minor housekeeping problems - not worth complaining about, but detracting from our sense of value for money. The hotel advertises free wi-fi: it accepted the code but neither I nor another British guest could get it to work. I didn't bother to report this (language again!).

Little hotel, I liked its favourable location.
I had neat outstanding room with balcony and windows facing the kitchen, for example.

The central location permitted ealking to all points of interest in the area.
A minor problem was the traffic noise because we like to sleep with windows open.

I stayed at the Bed & Breakfast part of the hotel only for two days. I had a parking place at all times. The hotel is direct at the train station, near all shops and you can have breakfast with a front view to the lake. The staff was very friendly and when I needed a hair dryer (not available in this type of room), they provided it.
The shared bathroom and shared shower were near my bedroom, so when other people were using it I could hear quite loud the water running. The shower room had small spots of humidity fungus at the shower curtain and at the ceiling. The breakfast was very poor, having bread, a couple of cheeses, cereal, some fruit and jams; no egg, hams, salads, cakes or fresh juices. Nobody asked if the guests would like different coffee drinks, such as cappuccino, latte, etc.
